Roberto Cipresso
A creator of great wines recognized all over the world, Roberto is a tireless producer in all latitudes. He is the owner of the Roberto Cipresso winery in an old factory recovered with industrial archaeology that will be dedicated to the Oria Project.
While living in Montalcino since 1988, he also produces wines in France, USA, Spain, Argentina and Italy and has a private cellar with more than 6,000 bottles.
On several occasions in his career he produced wines that have been distinguished with more than 95 points (including 99 and 98 point wines).
For ORIA, he has designed a vinification system that captures the greatest complexity of aromas and qualities of the 133 clones of Sangiovese, as well as extends the wine’s aging capacity to more than 30 years.
Roberto thinks of Oria as the project where he can share with his partners his background, passion and experience, while creating a cultural, scientific and artistic work on Italian wine that will be a must for all wine lovers and scholars around the world.

The vineyard
A charming vineyard-garden designed to be visited by foot, bicycle, or on horseback, allowing members to easefully explore and carry out activities of the production process.

Roberto has 35 years of winemaking experience in Italy, France, USA and Argentina, among being a trusted advisor to wineries all over the world. He is a National Academician of Agriculture in Italy and has even been asked to make wines for Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis.
He made wines for John Paul II and Pope Francis.Recognized in 2006 as one of the best winemakers in Italy, he is also the best-selling author of four books on wine.
