Roberto Cipresso

Roberto Cipresso is a tireless adventurer and passionate about everything he chooses to do. After 35 years of producing celebrated wines around the world, today he chooses to share his dream of opening the doors of Oria to wine lovers.

The memory is not mine alone, the success is shared. Nothing better than reaching any goal with someone else. Because the gaze of another is what makes that moment memorable” – RC

Roberto was born in Bassano del Grappa and that is where his career began. He studied agriculture in Padua and completed a master’s degree in San Michele all’Adige, which allowed him to get to know first-hand the different productive realities of Italy, including Montalcino.

After creating his company in Tuscany with two friends, he started his personal project focused on Brunello di Montalcino: Azienda Agricola Roberto Cipresso, thanks to a Sangiovese cru vineyard planted in 1998 and an adjoining farmhouse called Poggio al Sole.

Making wine means building a solemn project that can outlive the maker himself, and is something able to explain to a son or a grandson the magic of the maker. There is no other product like wine that has the capacity to evoke. Tasting a wine from 20 or 30 years before takes you back to the dream and to the person who created it.” -RC

Over the years, he has followed many Italian companies, located in 20 different regions, and has spent an important part of his time advising foreign companies, located in Croatia, Brazil, Spain, Romania, America, Peru, Turkey, Slovakia, Chile, but especially Argentina (Mendoza and Cafayate).

Making wine is not just about doing something fun that can produce euphoria and be shared with friends. It also takes us on a journey into the past, conveys notes of adventure, transports us to that place where it was created.” – RC
