Martín Iglesias
True luxury is not measured in material possessions, but in the possibility of living authentic experiences, connected to the land.
"True luxury is
belonging to something real."
Martín Iglesias was born in Buenos Aires and is an entrepreneur, businessman and co-founder of ORIA Toscana, a project born from the conviction that true luxury is not measured in material possessions, but in the possibility of living authentic experiences connected to the land, time and people. He is the author of "El Juego de los Fracasos", a book about entrepreneurship and the culture of learning from mistakes.
Holding a degree in Systems Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at UBA —with an undergraduate thesis on Artificial Intelligence— and a DPME postgraduate programme at IAE Business School, he built an international career at Globant, Banco Galicia and Telecom, focused on company internationalisation, global clients and international contracts —that same expertise is today a key factor in Oria's operation.
His passion for wine was born in 2008, when Globant clients travelling to Argentina wanted to discover the country and taste Malbec. That first connection with the glass, the table and conversation led him —years later— to Tuscany, to meet Roberto Cipresso and to found Oria.
In parallel to Oria he runs a Family Office with strategies based on options and trading automation, where he applies years of experience in AI —he uses Claude and agents as part of his everyday workflow—. He has lived in several cities around the world and today divides his time between Buenos Aires and Val d'Orcia.
"My work is not full time: it is full life."
Be part of the project"In Tuscany, alongside Roberto Cipresso, I found not only an extraordinary land, but also a philosophy of life based on respect for the terroir, the beauty of the landscape and the value of time."
When Tuscany changed everything
The turning point came in Tuscany. There, alongside the renowned Italian winemaker Roberto Cipresso, Martín found not only an extraordinary land, but also a philosophy of life based on respect for the terroir, the beauty of the landscape and the value of time.
From that union ORIA was born: an international community built around wine, hospitality, sustainability and the possibility of being part of a real legacy in one of the world's most emblematic regions.
More than a winemaking project, ORIA represents a new way of understanding belonging: allowing people from different countries to live the experience of having their own space in Tuscany, taking an active part in production, sharing knowledge and building memories that transcend generations.
Tradition and innovation
Under Martín's vision, ORIA combines the best of two worlds: the depth of the Tuscan tradition and the agility of global innovation.
Technology and AI at the service of the territory
With an undergraduate thesis on Artificial Intelligence and years of experience applying AI and agents to real processes —Claude among them—, Martín translates that expertise into tools that bring members closer to their land: harvest tracking, direct communication with the winemaking team and full transparency about production.
Environmental sustainability
ORIA integrates sustainable viticulture practices and conservation of the Val d'Orcia landscape. Protecting the territory is not an add-on, it is the centre of the project's philosophy.
International community
With members in multiple countries, ORIA builds a network of people united by shared values: authenticity, beauty, belonging. A community that grows around the same land and the same wine.
Legacy and the long term
Inspired by his track record in long-term construction projects, Martín conceives ORIA as a legacy: a project that transcends generations and preserves the authenticity of the territory for those who come after.
The road to ORIA
He graduates from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires with an undergraduate thesis on Artificial Intelligence. That early training in AI shapes his entire subsequent professional career.
Involvement in leading companies in Latin America with a focus on company internationalisation, global contracts and international clients —expertise that is today a key factor in Oria's operation.
Globant clients travelling to Argentina want to discover the country and taste Malbec. That first connection with the glass, the table and conversation opens the path that years later will lead him to Tuscany.
Postgraduate programme in Management of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises at IAE Business School. A rigorous approach to managing mid-sized companies —the very one he will end up applying to scale Oria.
He publishes the book "El Juego de los Fracasos" about entrepreneurship and the culture of learning from mistakes —a vision that becomes the foundation of his business philosophy.
In Val d'Orcia, Martín meets the winemaker Roberto Cipresso and the land that changes everything. Together they share a philosophy: respect for the terroir, the beauty of the landscape and the value of time.
Alongside Roberto Cipresso he co-founds ORIA 1.618 SAS. He leads the project's international growth: a global community, hospitality, technology, fractional ownership and the legacy at the heart of Val d'Orcia.
He runs a Family Office with strategies based on options and trading automation. He applies years of experience in AI and agents —using Claude as part of his everyday workflow— to design robust decision-making systems.
The other Martín
A life built with the same obsession for authenticity —inside and outside the vineyard.
In parallel to Oria he runs a Family Office with strategies in options and trading automation. He applies AI and agents —Claude among them— to design decision-making systems.
His book about entrepreneurship and the culture of learning from mistakes. A field manual written from the trenches, not from theory.
The football club with the largest following in history. An Argentine passion that slips into any conversation with South American members of the Oria community.
