The heritage

Eight centuries of history.
An exceptional future.

The Santa Maria della Scala monastery was built in the 13th century in San Quirico d'Orcia, in the heart of the territory that today carries the UNESCO World Heritage designation. Its stone walls have survived eight centuries of Tuscan history.

Oria is carrying out a meticulous restoration that respects every original element of the building while incorporating all the comforts of a contemporary luxury hotel. The project works in coordination with UNESCO and the Italian heritage authorities.

The 14 suites will occupy the original spaces of the monastic cells, the cloister and the former chapter house. Each room preserves the arches, vaults and original materials of the 13th century.
